My Experience in Real Estate
Education and professional experiences
Lynden Christian High School, student body vice president, defensive football captain and baseball all county team.
Graduated from Western Washington University with a major in Accounting and a minor in computer science.
Started and ran an electrical contracting business for 21 years. Licensed and tested Electrical Administrator, journeyman electrician, estimator, designer and lighting consultant. I also was a board member for the national association of independent electrical contractors. We did lobbying in Washington DC.
Real Estate associate beginning in 1999 and working in the business full time starting in 2002.
As an electrical contractor I worked with Lewsader Construction. After talking with him about starting a new 58 home project in Cordata in north Bellingham, I helped with the planning, permiting, financing, construction, marketing and sales and at that time I decided to work in real estate full time.
During that time I also started and sold other projects and properties including:
a 32 unit apartment, Birchwood Apartments
a 24 unit condo project. Glen Eagle phase 3
a 21 lot development Loomis Trail phase 3
a 280 unit housing project called Cordata Country,
a 70 acre raw land development to DR Horton phase 8 and 9.
I resold Cordata Country to DR Horton doubling the price for the initial investor
A 148 acre planned development in Semiahmoo including entitlements, permiting, bidding, consulting and construction including homes and sales office. Horizon
Other projects include a 72 home, 24 condo and 54 unit apartment complex with retails sales included. Palisade Place.
A 39 unit condo project with sales, a 54 unit apartment conversion, a 101 unit residential lot development including sales. Meadowbrook
a 210 unit Business and condo storage unit, Haugen Business and Storage
a 40 acre mixed use development including pads for a bank, a coffee shop, a medical facility, Birch Point center
a 58 unit water front resort property, Marin
a 101 lot development Malibu by the Bay
500 acres of prime agriculture land with 7 buyers and 21 parcels all closing at the same time
I was involved in the purchase, planning, construction and sales of a 55 plus 64 unit planned residential development including sales. Bryce Park
I have listed a resort including a hotel, marina, grocery store parking garage, a nature reserve and a boutique shopping center. Semiahmoo Spit
I now am actively selling a 13 lot planned development with a lake, walking trails and Harbor Views. Harbor Farms
We are just starting a 93 unit planned development with open space walking trails and fee simple homes West Cordata Green
I also am co-listing a 150 unit storage studio project in Blaine A to Z storage studios
I acquired my broker’s license as well as other certifications and credentials
